The Nigerian Government summons Ms. Iva Denoo, to Nigeria over the demolition of the Nigerian Embassy in Ghana. Geoffrey Onyeama, The Minister of Foreign Affairs, reveal on Monday 22nd, June that he demanded an urgent explanation about attacks on one of Nigerian residential building for diplomatic premises and reinforcement of security around diplomatic premises and staff.”
On Friday, armed men from Ghana storm the building with bulldozers. The residence of Nigeria High Commission was a new building in construction for staffs and visiting diplomats of the high commission.
And according to the Accra-based Joy FM, one armed man allegedly threatened Nigeria High Commission staff saying “ he will clear them off” if they interfere in the demolition.

According to the security , “when the police arrived at the scene, they didn’t say anything , instead they walked straight to the Leader of the armed men , and chatted with him, like they were colleagues and even exchanged numbers with him”, they took pictures of the property but didn’t speak to any of the witnesses on the ground.
Charles Owiredu, the Ghanaian Deputy Foreign Affairs says” What happened on June 20th was rather unfortunate “
That diplomatic mission cannot be fixed without invitation, and it was Ghana’s responsibility to protect the mission, ” go deal with that issue” he added.
He also said, information gathered pointed to a link between the demolition and land ownership disputes between Nigeria High Commission and Osu Traditional Authorities.
