House Of Reps Urge NCDC To Test C.E.O Multichoice, John Ugbe For COVID-19.

John Ugbe, C.E.O Multichoice was to appear before the committee for a hearing on the non- implementation of the pay-as -you- go tariff plan by satellite broadcasters and DSTV subscription price increase which was slated for 17th July 2020 of which a letter was sent to him earlier on the 6th 2020 inviting him to a hearing.

However, he pleaded with the commission to reschedule the Hearing to July 22,2020.

Mr. Ugbe didnt appear again befor the commitee for the hearing, writing a letter to the commission again that he is not well and asked that the meeting the rescheduled again till he recovers and is cleared by his doctors.

The letter:

”We regret to inform the Committee that we would be unable to appear before it today due to a sudden illness of our Chief Executive Officer, after arriving in Abuja yesterday for this meeting. Because of the abundance of caution needed to be taken in line with the current pandemic, we believe it is necessary that the meeting be deferred until he has regained his health and is cleared by his medical doctor.”

”In the meantime, we will submit written submissions to the Committee to assist the committee in its investigations. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused to the Committee and please be assured of our best efforts at all times.”

Following the subsequent rescheduling, Hon. Julius Pondi, a member of the committee urged the NCDC to locate Ugbe and test him for coronavirus since he had complaind of headache and to also get back to the committee in four days.
