Mompha Sue’s EFCC For Re-arrest & Demands N5m As Compensation

Internet Socialite Ismaila Mustapha, aka Mompha has sued the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for his re-arrest with a lawsuit of N5m for his recent arrest.

Mompha who went to their office in Lagos on Friday to reclaim his seized items which had been ordered by Justice Muhammad Liman to be released to him was re arrested by operatives of the Commission.

However, in a lawsuit filed by his lawyers Mr. Gboyega Oyewole (SAN), Ademola Adefolaju, Kolawole Salami and three others, yesterday, Mompha urged the court to declare his re-arrest and detention by the EFCC as unjustifiable, unlawful, unconstitutional and a breach of his fundamental human rights as enshrined in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (As amended), among others.

However, he prayed the court to order EFCC to release him, give him back his seized items and compensate him with N5m for damages.
