On Monday, the National President Of NAPPS (National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools) Chief Yomi Otubela via a virtual conference assured the Federal Government on its readiness to kick off transitional classes in line with the rules laid out by the NCDC.
He said: “I can vouch for our members that have gone through safety measures in their schools. We are over 100 percent ready for transitional classes to resume.”
”NAPPS, as a responsive and responsible association, has shown its readiness to ensure the safe phased reopening of schools for JSS3 and SSS3 students in private schools by ensuring member schools strictly adhere to the safety protocols recommended by the NCDC to prevent the spread of COVID-19 within the school environment.”
“Even though we appreciate the safety concerns of the Federal Government, private schools are fully prepared for safe reopening of schools with investment already made to procure safety equipment as advised by the NCDC to ensure the safe reopening of schools nationwide.”
He also said that relevant workers has been trained on how to manage the children to curb the spread of the virus.
He also called on the Federal Government to make funds accessible to Ministries of Education to equip public schools with the needed facilities so that their candidates could take the examinations with their private school counterparts.
The NAPPS chairman who is the Proprietor of Lagooz Schools Agege also said that the suspension of WAEC has caused a trauma in students and could make them loose interest in Education.
