A public e-auction of certain seized automobiles has been announced by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
The commission stated that the exercise will be done online and is scheduled for Monday, January 27, 2025, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Additionally, there are auctioneers in the states of Abuja, Edo, Kwara, Sokoto, Kaduna, Lagos, and Kano, and the exercise is divided throughout 16 lots. Those who are interested might visit the official websites listed for each lot.
According to Newsline, because the vehicles have different bidding levels, some are still up for sale while others have already closed.
The commission stated in a tweet posted on Monday from its X handle that the e-auction will be conducted in accordance with the Proceeds of Crime (Recovery & Management) Act, the Public Procurement Act of 2007, and the EFCC (Establishment) Act of 2004.
As per the EFCC (Establishment) Act, 2004, the Public Procurement Act, 2007, and the Proceeds of Crime (Recovery & Management) Act, 2022, the tweet partially stated, “The General Public is hereby notified that the @officialEFCC through its appointed Auctioneers will conduct e-Auction of the under-listed vehicles that are subject to final Forfeiture orders.”
