Rotimi Ogun, a 48-year-old herbalist who lives at No. 7, Itokun St., Ayorinde area in Ogunwas on Friday arraigned before Ikeja Magistrate Court for allegedly obtaining N1.2m from a woman on false pretenses of selling some goods to her.
SP Clifford Ogu, the prosecutor told the court that the incident occurred between February and June at Odunbakun area, Iju Ishaga, Lagos.
The defendant who promised the victim to supply her goods worth N1.2m , never delivered and his accomplice is still on the run.
He said:
“The case was reported at the police station, the defendant was tracked and arrested,’’
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs S.K. Matepo granted the defendant bail of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum. Matepo, adjourned the case until Aug. 17 for mention. (NAN)
