Scores of persons were on Sunday killed by suspected bandits who attacked a market in Goronyo local government area in the eastern part of Sokoto State.
The bandits, according to residents, opened fire on locals at the market.
Though there was no confirmation of the casaulty figure, it was gathered many sustained injuries during the attack.
Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal expressed sadness over the incident and immediately left for the town on Monday morning.
