Chairman of Nasarawa Local Government Area, Mohammed Ottos has been suspended by the National Assembly over Insubordination.
On Monday, in Lafiaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, Speaker made the announcement after Mohammed Alkali, Chairman House Committee moved a motion on the Insubordination of the affected council officials.
The house also suspended Karu Local Government council Deputy Chairman Lawal Yakubu Karshi for the same act.
The speaker said that for the chairman of Nasarawa council and Deputy Chairman, Karu council to abandon their official duties to attend the court case of the former Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Aliyu Ahmed is an act of insubordination.
“The Chairman of Nasarawa Local Government Council is hereby suspended pending the investigation on his act of insubordination.
“The Deputy Chairman of Nasarawa Local Government is hereby directed to take over the affairs of the council in acting capacity with immediate effect.
