NFL Players Association had initially said that 95 players have contracted the virus, but on Tuesday the players union corrected the number saying the previous number included all positive cases across the league including staff.
However, the NFL’s players association confirmed that 59 players have contracted the virus and this comes after there was an agreement between the NFL and the NFL players association to conduct a test ahead of training.
“Our union has been pushing for the strongest testing, tracing, and treatment protocols to keep our players safe,” the players union said Monday.
“The testing protocols we agreed to are one critical factor that will help us return to work safely and gives us the best chance to play and finish the season.”
