COVID-19: Civil Servants Plead For Extension As FG Begins ‘No Vaccination, No Entry’

The Nigerian civil servants have pleaded for COVID-19 vaccination extension date as the government instructed security agencies to disallow unvaccinated workers from accessing their offices at the federal secretariat, Abuja.

This is coming amid the Omicron variant concern in Nigeria when the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), confirmed two cases yesterday as reported by NewsBreak.

National President of the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN), Dr Tommy Okon, has noted the workers are willing to get vaccinated  but demand a deadline extension to the first quarter of 2022.

“The vaccine is in two folds, the first jab and the second completion jab. It, therefore, means that when you take the first jab, you have to wait for a month for the second dose and this directive came not up to a month ago, and you are subjecting your workers to this medical trauma,” he said.
