Donald Trump Names Tom Homan, Who Is In Charge Of Immigration, As “Border Czar.”

Late Sunday night, US President-elect Donald Trump said that he is bringing back strict immigration official Tom Homan to watch over the country’s borders in his new government.

The 78-year-old Republican has promised to start deporting more undocumented aliens on his first day in office than any other man in US history.

“I’m happy to say that Tom Homan, former director of ICE and strong supporter of border control, will be joining the Trump Administration to lead our Nation’s Borders as ‘The Border Czar,'” Trump wrote on his social media site, Truth Social.

“Tom is the best person I know for keeping our borders safe and open. I’ve known him for a long time.”

Trump said Homan would be in charge of Deporting all Illegal Alien

Aliens back to their home country.

During part of Trump’s first administration, Homan was in charge of immigration enforcement. In July, he spoke at the Republican National Convention and told supporters, “I have a message for the millions of illegal immigrants Joe Biden has let into our country: You better start packing now.”

Trump, who never admitted that he would lose in 2020, made an amazing return to become president on November 5, solidifying his right-wing views in US politics.

He has only named one cabinet member so far—his campaign manager Susie Wiles, whom he calls “Ice Baby” because she is said to be calm under pressure—as his White House Chief of Staff. He won’t be sworn in until January.

Trump told the New York Post late Sunday night that he had offered Republican Congresswoman Elise Stefanik the job of US Ambassador to the UN.

Stefanik, who is in her fifth term, told the newspaper that she had agreed to the job and was “truly honored.”

Adding to the Tensions

The US government has had a hard time for years keeping the southern border with Mexico under control. Trump’s claims of a “invasion” of migrants who will hurt Americans have made things even worse.

He used angry language to attack illegal immigrants during his campaign, calling them people who “poison the blood” of the United States.

During his rallies, he lied about immigration policy and data and exaggerated local tensions.

While serious crime rose during Trump’s time in office, it has gone down every year since then.

The government of President Joe Biden.

Statistics show that immigrants commit fewer crimes than native-born people. However, there have been a few high-profile cases of foreign suspects being charged with violently attacking women and children, which has made Republicans angry.

The amount of interactions between the US Border Patrol and people crossing illegally from Mexico is now about the same as it was in 2020. In December 2023, there were a record 250,000 interactions.

As part of a plan he calls “Operation Aurora,” Trump has promised to use the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to fight migrant gangs. This law lets the federal government round up and remove foreigners from enemy countries.

A video going popular in Aurora showed armed Latinos in an apartment building. This caused many false stories to spread that the town was full of Latin American immigrants. Trump has also spread the false claim that Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, are killing people’s pets.
