A 300-Level student of Bayero University, Kano, identified as Sakina Bello, has been kidnapped by gunmen while commuting between Janbulo and Rijiyar Zaki area of kano.
Family sources confirmed that she has been abducted around 3Pm on Tuesday on her way back home.
The kidnappers later call on Wednesday morning, requesting N100million ransom.
According Abdullahi Kiyawa the spokeman for Kano police comand, said on tuesday around 3pm we received a report of missing person and we started investigating the matter immediately.
Kiyawa added that efforts to trace her whereabouts were ongoing.
The university has not been on session since July, and will resume on November 1 BUK spokesman Lamara Azare said.
He said
“We are not on session. We have no any student residing on campus, and we have not received any incident of abduction of any student,”.
