Mauricio Pochettino has been confirmed as Chelsea’s new permanent head coach.
Chelsea have announced Pochettino’s appointment, with the Argentinian signing an initial two-year deal that also includes a club option of an additional one year.
According to the reports, Pochettino will start work on July 1 ahead of next season and bring with him his trusted backroom team members, Jesus Perez, Miguel d’Agostino, goalkeeper coach Toni Jimenez plus son and fitness coach Sebastiano Pochettino.
Chelsea have turned to the former Tottenham boss as their long-term replacement for Graham Potter, who was sacked in April.
Coach Bruno Saltor led Chelsea against Liverpool following Potter’s exit before Frank Lampard took over on an interim basis to lead Chelsea until the end of the season.
Having moved quickly to bring in Potter, who lasted just seven months at Stamford Bridge, following Thomas Tuchel’s dismissal in September, Chelsea were keen to take more time assessing their options this time around.
