As part of the federal government’s efforts to combat hunger in the country, the Nigeria Customs Service has commenced the sale of rice bags confiscated from smugglers.
Recall that the agency on Wednesday announced plans to begin the sale of the seized bags of rice.
The process commenced on Thursday, February 22. The bags are wrapped in 25-kg sacks and are being sold at N10,000 each.
The authorities demand that each buyer provide their National Identification Number (NIN) to ensure that only Nigerians benefit from the process.
