Recall that Last Monday, an Upper Sharia Court at Hausawa quarters of Kano metropolis presided by Khadi Aliyu Muhammad Kani sentenced one Sharif- Aminu Yahaya to death by hanging over for blasphemy.
However, the Sharia Court located at Kofar Kudu near the Emir of Kano’s palace has sentenced another man named Mati Abdu, 60 to death by stoning for raping a minor.
Abdu was allegedly arrested for raping a 12 year old at Farsa Village in Tsanyawa local government area of the state.
He was sentenced to death by stoning by Justice Ibrahim Yola, the presiding judge who upon hearing from both parties which is the suspect and victim meted the judgement because he is a married man.
Also confirming the judgement is Mr. Baba Jibo, Public Relations Officer of Kano courts who reportedly said the convict admitted to committing the crime.
