Lagos State Set To Resume The Administration Of The Second Dose Of The AstraZeneca COVID-19 Vaccine On Aug 30

The Lagos State Government in a statement on Sunday stated that the administration of the second dose of the AstraZeneca covid-19 vaccine would commence on Aug 30.

Disclosing this Mr Tunbosun Ogunbanwo, Director, Public Affairs in the state Ministry of Health, stated that the administration of the second dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine would hold across the 88 vaccination sites used during the first phase of the vaccination exercise.

He further said that the vaccination will be for 20 days, from Aug. 30 to Sept. 24.

He said that only persons who had received the first jab of the vaccine during the first phase of the AstraZeneca vaccination excercise in the state were eligible for the exercise.

The director advised eligible persons to present their vaccination cards between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the vaccination sites to get vaccinated.

He said;

“There is no need for e-registration for this category of people,”

“The Lagos State Government is working with the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), to ensure that there is no confusion on which vaccines will be given to whom,”

He advised residents to get all recommended vaccine doses to enhance protection against the virus.
