Linda Ikeji and ECOBANK set to empower young women in June with the ‘Selfmade Woman Conference 2021’

ECOBANK Nigeria a leading financial institution collaborates with Linda Ikeji, Africa’s leading media businesswoman and blogger, for the latest edition of the ‘Selfmade World Conference’ of her popular empowerment programme.

In 2013 Linda Ikeji started Selfmade Woman Conference as a support project with the exclusive aim of supporting young female entrepreneurs or aspiring entrepreneurs and providing financial support.

On 19 June in Lagos, Nigeria, there will be the second “Selfmade Woman Conference.”

The first edition of the conference was held in April 2017 by Linda, who was named the number one blogger in Africa. More than 3,000 young women participated.

Linda Ikeji has used her voice and platform over the years, to encourage young Nigerian women in their financing and support to start their businesses.

Linda Ikeji has been empowering women businesses since 2015, with a number of them successful small businesses in since 2015.

Linda said she took the conference time off to plan better about 2021. She talked about 2021. “I am very passionate about women and very inspired by successful women. I want more women to believe in themselves, fight for their dreams, be financially independent, believe that there’s nothing they can’t accomplish. The conference is to mentor and inspire women with dreams and aspirations.”

Speaking further, Linda said, “It seems the world is more skewed towards making a man more successful than women, or at least that’s the narrative most of our generation were given. So, those of us who have broken through the myth have the duty to take as many other women as possible with us. We need more women to succeed. We need more women to head conglomerates. We need more women making impact.”

For coming into the project, Linda appreciates ECOBANK. “Having ECOBANK on board the project is so heartwarming. It is like coming together of liked minds.” She said
