The American rapper Nicki Minaj just released a new song called “If It’s Okay,” which features Afrobeats artist Davido and record producer David Guetta.
On Friday, Minaj praised Davido for joining the duet and shared the song’s release on social media.
The song “If It’s Okay” is taken from the rapper’s recently released album, “The Pinkprint.”
Minaj’s lyrics establish the mood of the song.
The song’s lyrics said, “Don’t hide what you feel, because what you feel is real, yeah and you deserve the glory, yeah you just gotta let me know, yeah (You just gotta let me know).”
Davido’s verse added emotion to the song as well.
“I’ve been crying since the morning, baby. Oh, dutti-gon-go, my God. You can obviously tell that no one is pursuing you. He sings, “I can’t hide it, girl. I need you in my life and I feel empty. Let’s work it out, baby, because I know you’re not okay.”
Minaj became well-known when her debut album, “Pink Friday,” was released in 2010.
Other works that she has released include “The Pinkprint” (2014) and “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded” (2012).
The rapper, who was born in Trinidad, has won multiple accolades for her musical abilities.
She revealed a label named “Heavy On It” last year. In addition, she introduced her first four new hires: London Hill, Tate Kobang, Nana Fofie, and Rico Danna.
In contrast, Davido rose to fame with his 2012 single “Dami Duro.”
Davido has established himself as one of Africa’s top artists, having won numerous accolades.
In contrast, David Guetta began his career as a DJ in the 1980s. Albums like “Listen” (2014) and “Nothing but the Beat” (2011) have earned him praise.
