Mr Oluwatosin Ojaomo, one of the lawyers to the suspended Chairman of the Economic And Financial Crimes Commission Mr Ibrahim Magu has been requested to be granted bail by his lawyer.
The lawyers letter on behalf of Magu dated 10th July, 2020 requested that Magu be granted bail on “self recognisance”
However, Mr Ojaomo stated that he is willing and ready to provide a surety that will make sure his client is available anytime he is needed for investigation.
Mr President was in copy of this letter and also Justice Salami( Chairman of the Presidential Probe Panel on the activities of the EFCC, Prof Itsay Sagay(SAN), Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee on Anti- Corruption and Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Investigation in charge of Magu’s case.
Mr Ojaomo also reminded the IGP of his directives that no one should be detained for offences that are available especially during this pandemic, and that his clients allegations are bailable.
