Morayo, Wizkid’s Sixth Studio Album, Is Released In Memory Of His Late Mother

On Friday, November 22, Grammy Award-winning musician Wizkid, whose real name is Ayodeji Balogun, released his sixth studio album, Morayo, via RCA Records and Starboy Entertainment.

The 16-track album is a moving ode to his late mother, Juliana Morayo Balogun, who died in August 2023. The title of the album means “I see joy” in Yoruba.

Wizkid said of the project when he announced it earlier this year, “Best album I ever made!!” Now pay attention! It can only get better from here!

Numerous well-known artists have collaborated with Morayo, such as Brent Faiyaz on “Piece of My Heart” and Asake on “Bad Girl.” Anaïs on “Slow,” Jazmine Sullivan on “Bad For You,” and Tiakola on “Après Minuit.”

The previously released songs “Kese (Dance)” and “Piece of My Heart,” the latter of which peaked at No. 4 on the U.S. Afrobeats Songs list, are also featured on the compilation.
