Wale Ojo, the Acting Chair of the PDP, and other executives have been suspended by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State.
According to reports, Ojo was appointed last Friday by chieftains and members of the party as the acting chairman.
A statement by the Publicity Secretary, Ayodeji Areola, said after the resolution of the Executive Committee of the Osun PDP:
“The following persons, namely Wale Ojo (vice-chairman Osun East) and Alhaji Remi Arogundade (state financial Secretary) are hereby removed as members of the SWC/SEC of Osun PDP being members of the SEC of Osun PDP, but who have refused in the last 18 months to attend any meeting of the State Executive Committee, and who have jointly and severally engaged in anti-party activities within Osun PDP. They are hereby removed as members of SEC and their immediate replacement from their local governments is hereby called for.”
“Mr. Lase Longe (state assistant organising secretary), Chief Sanmi Ogunyemi (ex-officio), Mr. Fadehan Marcus (ex-officio), Mr. Yemi Adepoju (state assistant secretary) and Isaac Durojaye (Ife East Local Government Chairman) are hereby warned to desist from their anti-party activities and to be kept under watch by the officials of the party in their wards.”
