Real-time Updates On The Edo Governorship Election

Today is the election for governor of Edo.

Whoever follows Governor Godwin Obaseki will be chosen by the people of Edo State.

The voters: total of 2.249 million voters obtained Permanent Voters Cards, or PVCs, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC.

Nonetheless, 2,629,025 people are registered to vote.

There are 1,526,699 in Edo South, 673,794 in Edo North, and 440,514 in Edo Central.

These electors are dispersed throughout 192 wards, 4,519 voting places, and 18 local government regions in the Edo election.

The candidates vying for Obaseki’s position include 17 males and woman.

However, on November 12th, only one person will take the helm and lead the state’s affairs until 2028.

Three-horse race: The candidates running for Edo governorship today are Dr. Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP); Senator Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who represents Edo Central; and Mr. Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party (LP), who represents Edo South.
