Thomas Henderson Docherty, also known as “The Doc”, was a Scottish football player and manager.
The former manager of Manchester United and Chelsea is reportedly dead at the age of 92.
He died this week after a long battle with illness, his family confirmed.
Docherty famously took Manchester United down to the second division in 1974 before bringing the club straight back up as champions.
Chelsea fans can also thank him for the changing the club’s shorts from white to blue, which remains the colour of choice today.
