Chelsea beat FC Noah 8-0 at Stamford Bridge in a UEFA Conference League group-stage match, which was one of the most dominant wins in European play. Chelsea started the game with a totally different lineup than their last Premier League game. They were in charge from the start and led 6-0 at halftime. They scored two more goals in the second half to secure the biggest win in the competition so far.
The first goal of the game was scored quickly by Tosin Adarabioyo. In the 12th minute, he rose to meet an Enzo Fernandez corner kick and headed it past Noah’s goalie. Chelsea’s dominance kept going almost right away. After Noah lost the ball right away after the restart, Marc Guiu took advantage, took the ball away from an opponent, and easily put it into the net to double Chelsea’s lead.
Another Chelsea defender, Axel Disasi, made it 3-0 in the 18th minute by heading in a Fernandez corner. Fernandez kept setting up goals. In the 21st minute, he sent a perfectly weighted pass to João Félix, who ran on to the ball and carefully clipped it over the goalkeeper to score Chelsea’s fourth goal. A few minutes later, Mykhailo Mudryk scored what might have been the game’s best goal. His shot was so well-aimed that the goalie had no chance of stopping it. It came from outside the penalty area.
As the half came to a close, Chelsea scored again. In the 41st minute, Félix scored his second goal of the game. The ball fell just right for him after deflecting off of a Noah defender. He put it in the net to make it 6-0 at halftime.
Chelsea didn’t slow down at all in the second half. In the 69th minute, Christopher Nkunku scored after his first shot was saved. He then fired the ball into the net from an angle to make the score 7-0. A few minutes later, Nkunku scored his second goal by scoring a penalty in the 76th minute. What a powerful shot down the middle of the goal from his spot to finish off a huge win for Chelsea.
The Blues’ constant attacking was the key to their win; they were the best team in every part of the field. With 16 goals in their first three Conference League games, Chelsea set a new standard for the league. They have scored twice as many goals as any other team during this time. This was also the club’s second-biggest win ever, after their famous 13-0 win over Jeunesse Hautcharage in the 1971 Cup Winners’ Cup.
Even though FC Noah got off to a good start—Goncalo Gregorio had a chance early on that forced Chelsea’s goalie Filip Jorgensen to save—Chelsea quickly outclassed them with their speed and accuracy. Even though Noah gave them a few chances, they weren’t able to take any of them. Their defense was already under a lot of stress, but Chelsea’s quick changes and set-piece deliveries made things worse over and over again.
That Chelsea’s second-string team was way too good for a team like Noah, which was ranked 311th in UEFA’s club rankings, showed how strong Chelsea really was. The fact that players like Adarabioyo, Guiu, and Disasi have been doing so well shows how deep Chelsea’s team really is. Regular starters like Félix and Nkunku have also been doing very well in the Conference League.
Even though Noah’s players tried hard to keep up, it was clear that one team was much better than the other. They made mistakes on defense that cost them, and Chelsea’s attack was too strong for them to handle. But they did have some good moments. Gregorio’s early goal was the best chance for them, and if it had gone in, it might have given them hope. That being said, Chelsea totally controlled the pace of the game.
With two goals in this game, Nkunku continued to show why he is one of Chelsea’s best players this season, even though he hasn’t started a Premier League game yet. His ability to score regularly, even in cup games, shows how different Chelsea’s first-team regulars are from those who play in the Conference League. Another great player was Félix, who scored two goals and had a great game overall. He was named player of the match and got an impressive 7.97 grade for how well he moved and kept his cool in front of goal.
During the strong performance, other players also stood out. For example, Mudryk scored an impressive goal, and Fernandez provided key assists and was an important part of Chelsea’s offensive play. Disasi and Adarabioyo played great defense, and Guiu scored a goal and set up another one in his first start for the club, showing how good he could be in the future.
Chelsea made a statement with their win by showing that they are the best team in European events this season. The fact that they have such a strong roster makes them one of the strongest teams in the game. They will likely continue to win. As of now, this was the biggest win in the Conference League. It sets them up for more success as they try to make a real run in the competition. Even though Chelsea lost, they will have learned a lot from the game, especially how well they finished and how well they worked together as a team.
